Pula

I couldn't wait to see the surviving Roman buildings in Pula. Julius Caesar made Pula a Roman colony in 45 BC. Marc took the first picture of the Roman ampitheatre from the plane as we were landing. The second photo is the Roman Temple of Augustus which was built from 2 BC - 14 AD. In the third photo, I cannot contain my excitement to actually be in front of the arena. It is supposed to be in better shape than the one in Rome and is the sixth largest in the world. They still hold outdoor concerts and film festivals here. The last picture is the Roman Triumphal Arch of the Sergius Family which was ordered by Emperor Augustus around 27 BC.
